A short trip to Frankfurt in April 2022 had been planned for a long time.
From Siegburg with the ICE in less than an hour to the Frankfurt train station,
that can't be topped.
An overnight stay in the Motel One with a view of the Frankfurt skyline was quickly booked.
Arrived early in the morning in Frankfurt, with very mixed weather,
I ask myself at late breakfast what I can do.
Of the
PALM GARDEN FRANKFURT
is my goal .
Tropical flair greets me as soon as I enter the building.

I'll visit that first
PALM HOUSE.
What a blaze of color can be seen here.
Among other things, there are bright azaleas and Rhododendrons to be admired in all colours.
While there are still very few flowers outside, this is the purest color explosion.
...and on into the predominantly green area with various palm trees and ferns.
The area is traversed by a narrow stream that flows in a small water basin,
where goldfish swim ends.
The paved path leads to a grotto which was formerly used as a lounge for the gardeners.
It was opened to the public in 1979 and now contains aquariums with fish from South America.
On the way out I encounter a piece of history in the form of postcards.
Outside again, I go the way, am community house over to bandstand and take a short break at the small lake.
At the moment the sun is shining and I'm enjoying sitting here for a moment.
It's nice to enjoy the peace and to see the swan as he leisurely makes his rounds.
The stoning Pan guards the whole.
Back towards the entrance I come to one of the oldest buildings in the garden,
the former director's mansion with the pools of water and the bubbling seahorses.
Already at the entrance I noticed a white building behind the rose garden, which is surrounded by statues of the seasons.
It is a beautiful pavilion that invites you to linger.
Since it is now raining again, I hurry to get to the big lake,
in the hope that the waterfall runs.
But he's still on winter break.
So I hurry to the one or. exit to go back and pick up the remaining showhouses
for my next visit.
A little bit about the history of
PALM GARDEN:
Of the palm garden was founded in 1868.
At that time the free imperial city of Frankfurt became Prussian, the duke Adolph of Nassau
gave up his residence in Wiesbaden, and the collection he had built up became
of exotic plants for sale. The Garden Architect Heinrich Siesmayer (1817-1900) took the opportunity to
to acquire the plants in order to realize the idea of creating a community house for tropical plants.
He finally implemented the idea in 1868.
After the construction work, that was possible palm house with the palm garden be solemnly opened.
My conclusion: I will come back again in summer/autumn.
But even now in the spring
PALM GARDEN
